Ugstrumentals (1995)

These recordings were made at Graham’s flat in Fore Street above the Real McCoy Arcade during the late winter of 1994/5. They are most of the Ug Brothers set, including various pieces that were in a non-gigworthy state due to having no lyrics written for them at that time.

There are no vocals as Natalie was not there on the occasions we recorded these. The idea was to have something to listen to and work on with a view to making some lyrics, and also as a karaoke tape for Natalie to sing along to. Mostly no further lyrics were forthcoming, although these pieces still sound rather large and the idea of instrumental pieces was later developed by the Flicker project.
