Laney said she would write a piece for the site describing the history of this band based on her memories of those times. Hopefully George will make a contribution in that direction at some point soon as well, although he's snowed under with jobs at the moment. As Andy has joined the site, maybe he would like to contribute his ideas and memories for that page? ![]()
It's great reading Laney's memories and hearing that stuff again!
I wish I had been a bit more diligent about recording RT during those days. Almost every other musical shenanigan I've embarked upon has more recordings than RT, yet RT played quite a lot of shows and stayed together for a fair old while, all things considered.
Jerry recorded a video of us from somewhere I think, maybe that rather peculiar show we played at the mansion for the billionaires and the up-market prostitutes... I don't believe there are any recordings of rehearsals or gigs, which is a great shame as I felt that our live sound was rather mighty at times, especially with the good Professor Bateman at the controls.
Maybe there's somebody out there with a bootleg hidden away in some dark corner. Although somehow, I doubt it... ![]()
I am trying to put perspective on my memories of the heady days of rock`n`roll excess that was RT. and will post when I feel its good enough for general consumption.
I have posters and dubious press cuttings but its the little memories that fill the voids....one thing that always makes me laugh was back at Prof Pauls with the ceiling mounted speakers trying to get Danny into Taking TIger Mountain.....and failing miserably. ![]()
Laney wrote her piece for us eventually and we posted it up at the Wud Records site on the Rough Terrain pages. Some went on the Subterraineans pages as it spanned both bands.
BTW, thanks for the posters Andy, we shall attempt to load them to the Rough Terrain galleries at some point fairly soon. There's even a set list!
