The Subterraineans: Demo upgraded
The Subterraineans Demo from 1987 has had an upgrade in the form of a slight sonic makeover. We found that the old .mp3 files we were sharing with you were created using a bitrate of only 192k. We believe this was for easier operation of our old on-site .mp3 player software, the Flamplayer. The new files have had an upgrade in quality to an improved bitrate of 320k.
We hope that all you fans of The Subterraineans will enjoy the new improved sound quality of these Demo tracks. One day, when we have some time, we shall attempt some remastering. It is difficult to estimate when this will happen, and may not be any time very soon.
In other news regarding The Subterraineans, a band from Glastonbury called The Eldar have started putting together a cover of Short and Sweet. We have listened to their version and it’s starting to sound fabulous. It was a real joy to hear a fresh version of this great old song by Dean and we hope they will be able to develop it fully into their repertoire.
