Dayglow: Grain of Sand Demo added to Archives

The Grain of Sand Demo by Dayglow is the latest addition to the Wud Records Archives. The title track, Grain of Sand, is a fantastic powerful grunge anthem that always made people listen or go crazy. It was always one of our favourites on the whole Torbay independent music scene back in the day.

Dayglow were a grunge band from Torbay that existed and performed original material just after the turn of the millenium. There were three guys in the band, including a massively tall bass player, and after a year or so they added a fourth member on rhythm guitar. During the course of their existence they grew both as musicians and collectively as a band, from a fairly unremarkable club circuit group to a powerhouse outfit with one of the best sounds around.

Unfortunately we have no information to accompany the songs by Dayglow. We do not know the names of the writers or performers of these songs, nor where, when or by whom they were recorded. We believe the demo was made during the early part of Dayglow‘s existence as there is clearly only the one guitar on the recordings.

We also do not know what became of Dayglow, or any of its members. Perhaps if you know, you can email archive@wudrecrods.co.uk as we would love to find out!

We are not entirely confident that the tracks other than Grain of Sand have been correctly named. This is due to a total lack of information. The only writing on the CD we were given by one of the band’s members a long time ago says ‘Dayglow‘ and ‘Grain of Sand‘. We did our best to guess the titles of the tracks based on what we could hear in the lyrics, so the titles are probably rather unreliable.
