It is with great pleasure that we wish everybody a very Happy New Year in 2023! Let’s hope it’s a memorable one for all the right reasons.

The whole team would like to say a massive thank you to everybody who supported us in 2022. Without you, we couldn’t do this. We are very grateful and humbled by the support we have had from every corner of the earth. You lovely people continue to amaze us and make us smile.

In 2022 we were all very troubled by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Fortunately the war has not spread and who knows, we may even live to see in 2024. Our hearts go out to all the families affected by this needless and senseless war of choice that putin unleashed. One should also not forget the many Russian victims of putin’s regime, as well as the horrific and unnecessary destruction he has wrought on his neighbour.

Truth be told, Wud Records had a pretty poor year in 2022. We were unable to release even a single track due to an issue that has been present for some time but now absolutely must be solved. We badly need a new monitoring system in our control room so that our engineers can accurately hear the music they are producing and mastering. Without being able to hear the precise details, the results will continue to be unsatisfactory.

We have set a budget for some new monitors and are working towards that. Every download, every piece of merch we sell and every stream is going into that particular pot. There was a bit of a setback when the Wud Wagon broke down and needed to be fixed as fast as possible, but we are back on course to complete the studio upgrade in the spring of this year.

There were fewer sales, fewer streams and several enormous bills to pay in 2022 which contributed to the year being not very successful. There was also a lot of disruption from outside influences, such as health, work and family issues.

The law of averages states that if 2022 was not a very good year, 2023 has a good chance of being better. That’s something to look forward to.
