Dark Company: Drifting Stars remixes by & co upgraded

Drifting Stars, an album of Dark Company club remixes and EDM by & co, has now been upgraded to the fully remastered version with an improved bitrate for your listening pleasure.

Back in 2010 we remastered the eight tracks that currently make up this collection. When we were using the old Flamplayer software at the Wud Records website, we mostly used .mp3 files with a bitrate of 192k to enable quicker loading times of the pages. Something must have become a bit confused in the transition between our studios, which is largely an internet-free zone, and the office space where we do all of our web work. Not only were the old files that are rated at 192k in use, they were also the pre-mastering files!

These issues have been addressed and fixed. Now you can enjoy a vastly enhanced sound quality of the Drifting Stars album with fully mastered .mp3 files at a bitrate of 320k.

There are a number of other tracks that we will add to this particular collection of remixes and musical tangents. At present they are lurking on a variety of Dark Company cassettes in our vaults. We have managed to unearth a few of them and they are waiting on the remastering process. Updates regarding further such developments will be published here in our News service and on Twitter.

In addition, we have re-written the copy for the Drifting Stars page as the previous text was minimal and not especially informative. One could argue the case for keeping it that way, what with the culture of anonymity, white labels and silent aloof DJs, but we tend to feel that a little more information might be a good thing for fans.
