Ug Brothers: biography completed

The Ug Brothers biography has been completed! Finally!

When the Wud Records website was new, a lot of pages were added with not much content on any of them. Gradually, little by little, over (a very long) time, that content has been upgraded, improved and expanded.

We are very pleased to say that The Ug Brothers biography, which has grown slowly over four or five installments covering several years, has finally been finished.

It’s a long time ago now that The Ug Brothers were funking it up on stage and partying like the priesthood of Dionysus. Many memories are likely to have been lost, but those that remain have been cobbled together to form the now completed Ug Brothers biography.

One of the reasons for this sudden outburst of writing inspiration is Dave’s re-emergence. If you have been following our News, you probably know that he has been adding some of his wonderful Fender bass guitar to the songs on the Cosy Lube Turtle album by The Bastard Sons of Dennis. This has been coming along rather well and we hope to be able to share all of the finished songs with you soon.

Dave was, of course, the virtuoso bass player extraordinaire in The Ug Brothers. He, together with Graham on drums, were a formidable and enviable rhythm section. Graham’s drumming was always highly musical, composed and played with great heart and soul.

To enjoy the music of The Ug Brothers, we recommend listening right here at the Wud Records website. Their Ugstrumentals are authentic live instrumental bootlegs that capture the sound of the band in private. Cute But Weird and the associated Cute But Weird Ugstrumentals are slightly more refined recordings, made using a 4-track Tascam 244 cassette portastudio.
