Wud Records: Musical Discoveries

Following a variety of requests, the time has come to collect up all of the Musical Discoveries playlists and put them all together in one place for easy access.

Lots of people love to hear great new music, but finding it can be a lot of work. With our Musical Discoveries playlists, we’ve already done all of that work for you! Everything we’ve included is a track we liked or found interesting in some way.

All of the bands and tracks still remain completely independent from Wud Records and its associates. These are effectively just links to where you can hear some great new independent music on SoundCloud.

By now we have compiled several months of playlists and this means many hours of awesomeness. If you need some music whilst you are working or just relaxing, simply open one of these and press ‘play’. No need to do anything for quite a while afterwards.

All of the playlists are extremely eclectic and were ordered by the number of plays at the time of publishing, starting with the track that had the fewest. This means sometimes quite similar tracks might be together, and sometimes completely different ones will be. If the track you are hearing isn’t quite doing it for you, skip forward to the next and it may well be more pleasing.

We will be adding further playlists of great music every month. New Musical Discoveries collections are usually published within the first few days of the month. When we publish a new compilation, we inform everybody whose music is on it, then announce it in our News service and on Twitter. Why not bookmark or favourite these pages so you can always hear the latest sonic grooviness?

We tend to keep the latest Musical Discoveries playlist as our pinned tweet on Twitter in the hope that it will help these musicians and composers reach a few more listeners.

If you find something you like, please give the track and the artist a shoutout on social media. Helping to spread the word is great for the artists involved and you can be sure they will appreciate your recommendation. You can see for yourself just how many – or how few – plays each track has had. It is a great shame that more people are not hearing this fabulous music.
