The Daylight Demo by Wud from April 1985 has been uploaded. It’s covered in chorus and flange, and if you listen carefully you can hear the workings of the reel-to-reel tape machines at the ends of the tunes. Nevertheless, we still love it.

Some ancient recordings of The Bastard Sons of Dennis from the Wud archives have been unearthed and uploaded. These are the only recordings of The Bastard Sons of Dennis and are not quite true ones, but there you have it. George had dodgy electrics and a rather hyperactive refridgerator and the various clicks and clunks are the wretched thing switching on and off. We’ve managed to tone them down considerably, but they are still there. A curse upon Mr Smeg.

A whole load of Ug Brothers instrumentals – or ugstrumentals, as Professor Dinboffin called them – have been uploaded to the site. These were recorded in rehearsal using two ambient mics and feature many tracks that were never heard on stage.

The Cute But Weird ugstrumentals have also made their appearance. They include a version of Lifetime with two guitar tracks. One of the guitars had to be deleted to make room for vocals on the 4-track, so perhaps one track was almost OK and so was the other one and it was a beard-twiddling decision as to which one would stay. This version seems to be a couple of BPM slower then the final version. The Tascam has a speed control so this may not be significant.

Some more new tunes by Alchemeon have been recorded and uploaded and shall be made available to the public galleries soon. We have been suffering from some flatulence in the machine rather than ghosts in the machine, which is rather unfortunate. Maybe the ghosts are flatulent, who knows.

In addition we have added an ‘out-takes and blorts’ section for those glorious moments of non-triumph.We hope you like them!

A new selection of Alchemeon songs have been uploaded for public enjoyment. This particular selection was chosen by Pok from the various files that are currently available. There will be changes and additions to this playlist over time. As the next Alchemeon gathering is scheduled for Monday, the first changes to this list may be in the next few days.

We have new forum software for the Wud Records website, and unlike the previous forum software, this appears to work. We have also moved the whole site to a new high-speed server. Unfortunately our New Year wishes were lost in the server transfer, so once again – the Wud Records team would like to wish a very Happy New Year to all our visitors! :o)

Also, a special welcome goes out to Andy, the man with the silver larynx, who seems to have discovered us recently. :o)
