MonkeyFest!

Posted by Wudmaster on 29/06/11

Don’t forget, MonkeyFest is happening THIS WEEKEND! July 1st-3rd 2011, and with acts such as Guthrie Govan, Godsized, Rob Chapman, Sons of Icarus, Us Against All and Jess Lewis performing live, you won’t want to miss this weekend of gourmet guitaring from some of the best in the business.

There will be a number of workshops and tuition from some of the performers as well, so if you are a player this is a real opportunity for you to get down and dirty with some true virtuosos of the guitar.

If you have not managed to acquire tickets yet, this link will take you directly to the MonkeyFest ticketing page.

Dark Company: Rage in Heaven remastering

Posted by Wudmaster on 28/06/11

The 1993 Rage in Heaven album by Dark Company is undergoing a full remastering process at the moment. We are also making new artwork for the album and plan to re-release it soon. There may be some bonus tracks added, much as there were with the Signmaker album, although we are still twiddling our beards over this matter.

During the next few days while we carry out this work, the Rage in Heaven album is for sale for digital download at a discounted price at Bandcamp. To visit the Rage in Heaven page at Bandcamp, where you can see the redesigned front cover for the album, please click here.

We will be bringing readers of our ‘News’ section some special offers over at that site quite soon as well, so please stay tuned!

Pyg: Gruntings uploaded to archives

Posted by Wudmaster on 26/06/11

We have uploaded the 2001 mini-album Gruntings by Devon caustic folk band Pyg to Pyg’s pages in the Archive section of Wud Records.

Although the band itself is no longer with us, the songs live on for your enjoyment here at Wud Records. You can visit the Gruntings page to listen simply by clicking here.

Dark Company: Bad Habits progress

Posted by Wudmaster on 25/06/11

Following recent radio play we have been working towards the finalisation of the Bad Habits album by Dark Company. We are pleased to say that the first two tracks of the album, Tip the Rest and Whisky Priest, have been beautifully mixed and mastered.

In addition to the standard mixes, we are also making special mixes of each song with different instruments missing from each separate mix so that fans of the band who are musicians can play along on drums, bass, guitar, voice and so on.

Tip the Rest has one of the great classic rock riffs and is a song of praise, camaraderie and admiration. Whisky Priest is a tongue-in-cheek yet wistful look at the meaning of life with a great backbeat.

At present only the beta versions of these songs are published here at Wud Records and those beta versions will all be removed in the fairly near future. If you wish to hear the beta versions you will have to hurry and visit the Bad Habits page often in the coming days as that page will change. Many of the individual parts of these songs have been re-recorded since the beta mixes were uploaded so all of the songs will have a new crispy precision to them.

Wud Records: site traffic growing

Posted by Wudmaster on 24/06/11

We are delighted to say that June 2011 has exceeded May 2011’s record traffic figures for visitors to the Wud Records website. Traffic continues to grow month by month and has increased by more than 500% on this time last year.

We would like to thank all of our visitors for coming here as you make our jobs worthwhile. As long as you keep on visiting we will keep on adding new material and features to the site. A big Wud blessing goes out to you all and we hope that even more of you will visit in July and buy music from our shop at Bandcamp.
