Dark Company: Benign Inquisition alphas uploaded

Posted by Wudmaster on 09/04/10

We’ve uploaded Dark Company’s Benign Inquisition album as it stands at the moment. All the songs are at alpha stage, so obviously it still needs a lot of work. Updates to this collection will be made when they become available.

We’ve given Dark Company a demos page as well, and moved all the Mind Dance demos with Sammi and the old Benign Inquisition demos to that page, so you can still hear them there if you so wish.

In other Dark Company news, a film maker has been in with us touch and is interested in creating music videos for Dark Company. Our engineers are still busy working away on the Bad Habits album and are starting to put together the Drift of Stars collection as well. We shall let you know more about all of this next week.

Dark Company: Phonic FM debut

Posted by Wudmaster on 06/04/10

Dark Company were played on Phonic FM for the first time earlier tonight by Jon on the show he shares with Gordon called Future Sound of Exeter. They gave Wud Records a great plug as well, so thanks for that! :)

They have a copy of the demo of Dark Company’s forthcoming Bad Habits album and played the 7″ edit of Knowing, We Are after some Gong and Can. When the next CD failed to play, they resorted to Dark Company while things were fixed and played More or Less as well. Awesome! Afterwards it was a spot of Kraftwerk, so a great job all in all.

Meanwhile back here, we have been busy linking up Dark Company’s pages with the proper lyrics and information over at Explicit Music. You can now listen to their first three albums (Signmaker, Rage in Heaven and Alien Heat) while reading the lyrics and various pieces of information and trivia concerning each song.

There will be more news posted here concerning Dark Company very soon…

The Bastard Sons of Dennis: in the studio

Posted by Wudmaster on 01/04/10

Today The Bastard Sons of Dennis have been busy recording Q.Wim’s song Good Times. There is more work to do and so far it sounds great! The duo will next be in the studio on Wednesday to see if they can finish it.

Meanwhile they continue to play at many venues locally. Their next show will be at The Oddfellows, New North Road, Exeter on Monday 5th and then at the Black Horse, Longbrook Street, Exeter on Thursday 8th. They also appear fairly often at The Hole In The Wall, Castle Street, Exeter, so you can catch them there too from time to time.

Dark Company: Benign Inquisition progress

Posted by Wudmaster on 01/04/10

Dark Company have been in the studio recording some tracks for the Benign Inquisition album from 2000. All the guides are done and Pete has been busy singing the vocal parts. Today he did DOS Capital and Mirror Mirror on the Wall (from Noir), and recently he has finished Damaged, Deadwood, Falling Down and Care in the Community. We plan to upload the alphas of these soon, when the others have been done.

The Bastard Sons of Dennis: new songs, many shows

Posted by Wudmaster on 20/03/10

The Bastard Sons of Dennis have been working on some original material and plan to record it soon in our studios. Andy’s songs Good Times, Sometimes and Smile are all coming together very well and were all performed live during their long performance at the Hole in the Wall recently. Good Times and the jammed Pancake Blues were also performed live at the Black Horse on Thursday and their previous Black Horse performance allowed them to debut the song Where Is the Furniture of My Brother.

There are some more BSoD originals on the way as well. These include Andy’s songs Pieces of Me and The Cruellest Dream, George’s horribly mad instrumental Second Act and the recent creation from both Bastards, Where Is the Furniture of My Brother. Keeping up the Blue Oyster Cult theme, the songs Subhuman and Career of Evil are also swirling around the melting pot.

The Bastard Sons of Dennis have now played numerous shows at various venues and will be returning to them all at various points when they are holding open mic nights. These include The Amber Rooms and The Oddfellows (Mondays), The Hole in the Wall (Tuesdays), The Black Horse and The Angel (Thursdays) and The Rusty Bike (Sundays). We hope that you will keep a lookout for them.

Dark Company: masterings, recordings and writings

Posted by Wudmaster on 06/03/10

We have done some preliminary mastering of Dark Company’s Bad Habits album to see how things are going so far, and all in all the results are fairly pleasing. We plan to master the whole album soon, along with remastering Signmaker and Rage in Heaven.

Meanwhile, back in the studio, Pete has recorded some more of his vocal parts. Meat Grinder from the Noir album was completed along with some of the vocals from the Benign Inquisition album, including the verses for Damaged and the rest of Heavy Touch. Pete will be back in the studio on Tuesday.

Over at the Explicit Music site, we have updated some of the lyrics and information for Dark Company’s songs. The Rage in Heaven and Alien Heat albums have both received the full makeover treatment. More will be added there soon.
