Wud Records: one, two, testing…

Posted by Wudmaster on 18/02/10

“…disappearing into the woods with the vicar’s wife’s left leg over his shoulder, and… what? This microphone? It’s on? Oh, aha. I see. Ahem.”

We’re back! The new site design for Wud Records is up and running and most things seem to be working reasonably well. We hope you like it! There may be one or two issues and we’ll fix those as soon as possible.

Many thanks to Dan and his team at Darfuria for all the hard work they put into making this happen. Next stage: total global domination!

We shall bring you all the latest news of our various bands soon. :)

Wud Records: site rebuild and updates

Posted by Wudmaster on 29/01/10

Right now we are in the process of uploading the new design for the Wud Records website. Hooray!

During this period of transition, you may find that various parts of the site may have become inoperable or invisible. We apologise for any inconvenience suffered by our visitors and hope that everything will be fully functional again, complete with the new look of the site, within the next couple of days.

We anticipate that there may be a few bugs in the system here and there after the changeover and we shall try to fix these quickly when they become manifest.

Dark Company: Dolls House and White Bird on Ivory

Posted by Wudmaster on 29/01/10

We have uploaded two more songs to Dark Company’s Ghost of the Art collection, those songs being Dolls House and White Bird on Ivory. As with the others, these are only alpha mixes to allow Dark Company’s fans to hear updates to these old songs. The only song that remains to be added to this album is Reasons, which we hope to do next week.

The Bastard Sons of Dennis: two Exeter dates

Posted by Wudmaster on 27/01/10

The Bastard Sons of Dennis will be performing live at two Exeter venues next week. Tuesday 2nd February will be their debut performance at The Hole in the Wall, Castle Street, Exeter. Thursday 4th February will be their return to The Black Horse, Longbrook Street, Exeter. Hopefully we’ll see some of you there!

Last night The Bastard Sons of Dennis worked on some original material from their early days, specifically Andy’s songs Good Times, Sometimes, Smile and The Cruellest Dream. The Cruellest Dream George plays with the guitar tuned down to standard tuning in D with a drop-C! These old songs can be heard here in their Flamplayer In Session collection from 1998. They have also been putting together a version of Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir which they hope to be able to add to their live set soon.

Dark Company: Happy Hour

Posted by Wudmaster on 25/01/10

Track three of Dark Company’s Ghost of the Art album has now been uploaded. The song is called Happy Hour and is a rather beautiful wistful thing full of allegory, which speaks of Harlequin and Pierrot. There are three more songs to upload to complete the Ghost of the Art alphas and we hope to achieve that later this week.

Like all of the others on this collection at the moment, Happy Hour is only an alpha mix and is far from being finished. We uploaded it as we know there are some of you out there who would love to hear it already, even in its fledgling state.

Once Ghost of the Art is fully recorded to alpha stage, we will do some more work on Noir and begin working on Benign Inquisition.

We also hope to upload some of the &co material to the Old Hands page before much longer. Unfortunately some of that material has gone missing from the archives. We are looking into the possibility of borrowing a sniffer walrus from the zoo.

Alchemeon: possible future activity?

Posted by Wudmaster on 25/01/10

Professor Dinboffin has just returned to Brighton, and during his visit to Wudland indicated that there may in fact be a reasonable possibility that he will perhaps be returning to Devon on a more permanent basis at some point in the vaguely foreseeable future. He also indicated an interest in rekindling the fire in the Alchemeon furnaces once more. Although all of this information is steeped in a fair amount of uncertainty and topped with a good dollop of ambiguity, it is a curious and rather delightful thought nevertheless. Watch this space.
