News

All of the beta mixes for the forthcoming Alien Heat album by Dark Company have now been uploaded to the Wud Records site. The most recent additions to the Alien Heat playlist are Alpha Omega, Jigsaw, Crash and The Joker.

If you would like to listen to the Alien Heat album as it stands at present, please click here and then press play on the player in the new tab that opens.

All of the Alien Heat songs still need much work to finish them off. Alpha mixes are only ballpark approximations of songs, whereas beta mixes have been worked on some more with most parts recorded to varying degrees of finalisation, and they may even contain several elements that will appear in the final fully mastered mix.

It is said that it takes 95% of the time to do the first 95% of the work on a song, and then another 95% of the time to finish the last 5%. These songs are now into the final 95%. We hope you enjoy listening to these Dark Company songs.

Fooog’z Bloooz is a new track that has been added to the Anthology album by Pok. These riffs and chords were first heard around the music rooms of The King’s School, Ottery St Mary in the summer of 1982 and have been heard subsequently elsewhere in many other locations.

Fooog’z Bloooz is a short instrumental piece that never had any words. Pok performs the rhythm on an acoustic and improvises a lead guitar part on The Bastard, while Maxx and Sven handle the bass and drums.

So that’s the… house?
No, the mouse.
A mouse? Eughh.
It’s not a real mouse, it’s just a little plastic thing.
And that’s the scream?
No, it’s the screen.
Ah ok. And the keyboard?
Yes.
Why is it bored?
*sigh*

Greetings one and all! We are back it seems. Sometime in mid-August there was a power failure which ruined the Wud Records office computer. Since then we tried various combinations and permutations of software and hardware in here, and spent a lot more time working on musical things in the studios, and finally – we seem to have a running system, of sorts, even if we have to plug different hard drives into the motherboard when using different software. Hooray (at least sort of)!

Here is a teaser of what is to come soon. Since our last news post, we have done a great deal of work to several forthcoming Dark Company albums, had a three-day studio session with Pok, and worked on some Flicker material, both from their HappySad album and subsequent things. Many, many hours of video have been created and hopefully will soon be edited and published to our YouTube channel. We also peered into the archives for some old gems and have enjoyed some radio play. Not too shabby, all in all.

We shall bring you up to date with all of the latest news in the next few days and upload some sparkly new upgrades to many songs, assuming no more office space computer death occurs.

Here’s wishing you all a very happy Saturday! :-)
