Wud Records: site maintenance

Posted by Wudmaster on 24/07/12

This is an advance notice that both the Wud Records and Explicit Music websites may be offline for a time on Monday 30th July. This is so that we can blow toothpaste through the keyhole, arrange our socks in alphabetical order and oil the nurdling trunion. Essential work.

Once this is all done we will be able to give you our usual uninterrupted service for a full ten years before having to break out the aforementioned tools once again.

We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing all of you again on the far side of our essential site maintenance.

Wud Records: forums status

Posted by Wudmaster on 13/07/12

We need to give you some news concerning the Wud Records forums status. If you have visited our forums recently, you may have noticed that the forums are disabled and you will be unable to log in or register. Whilst it is still possible to read posts already there, a certain spillage of html code has taken place and our special rubber html cloth appears to be too saturated to wipe it up.

We have been aware of these issues for some time and unfortunately the software behind the forums is no longer supported. This means that we will probably have to install different forum software and transfer everything to the new format. This is not an easy or quick task.

So for the time being, we apologise for any inconvenience. Visitors can always make comments to posts in our ‘News’ service or contact us by email if something needs to be said on some subject.

Updates to the forums status situation will be published in due course. Meanwhile, all we can say is: ‘Flump’. :-|

Pok: festivals and new recordings

Posted by Wudmaster on 30/06/12

Pok has been performing at some festivals recently and adding new recordings of songs to his Soundcloud page. If you would like to visit his Soundcloud page to listen to his latest recordings Rose on Lewis Road, Poison in the Water and The Ruins of Cezarel, you can do so by clicking here.

These are Pok‘s words concerning his recent rather soggy festival experiences:

“Summer Solstice at the Heel Stone at Stonehenge was a vigil the night through in the rain, sheltered by the stone, my umbrella and tweed jacket, talking to Jez Little Green Man.

Come sunrise the sky cleared of rain – though not enough to see the sun until later – and a grand circle of blessings, handfastings, druidic pledges and poem was held with Arthur Pendragon and druids. I sung versions of Key to the Gates and We Shall Be Free.

Sunrise Celebration was also very wet until the Sunday, when I took off my boots and walked in the mud and sun.

Saturday and Sunday night saw John and I appear playing tunes on Dave Sanger’s solar powered Horsedrawn Stage.

Probably most memorable was John’s rendition of that ‘for she invented medicinal compound’ song by The Scaffold: Lily the Pink.”
