Dark Company: Old Hands alphas

Posted by Wudmaster on 30/11/11

Eleven upgraded Old Hands alpha mixes have been uploaded to the Dark Company Old Hands collection. There are maybe three more songs still to be added to the collection, including One-2-One, which is currently being disassembled and reconstructed.

This is the last collection of old songs from Dark Company’s back catalogue to be uploaded, so their entire anthology is becoming – sort of – complete.

These mixes are still very rough, e.g. there is not a lot of actual drumming going on and you can hear the click tracks. Obviously there is a lot more work to be done to make these rough diamonds into shiny polished jewels. Much as with other ongoing Dark Company collections, this will happen in due course and we shall let you know about further updates in the Wud Records News section.

Flicker: remastering

Posted by Wudmaster on 29/11/11

We shall soon be remastering the 2002 Flicker album At Least 1000 Words. This process will take place in three stages.

The first stage is to put all of the audio and data files in one place. This stage is done. Hooray!

The second stage is to conduct an analysis of all of those audio and data files to select the optimum version of each track on the album.

The third stage will be the remastering itself.

We shall keep you updated regarding the progress of this task through the news feed here at Wud Records and hope to bring you the spanking shiny new remastered At Least 1000 Words album in the reasonably near future.

In the meantime you can download the old version of At Least 1000 Words from Bandcamp at a price you can name yourself, which includes free. Anyone who downloads the album for 89% or more of the price we set for the final album will be sent the upgraded mp3 files free of charge.

Dark Company: misnomer anomalies fixed

Posted by Wudmaster on 24/11/11

Some misnomer anomalies have been fixed with regard to the naming of various Dark Company and & co albums.

The Dark Company album that was previously known here as Drift of Stars is in fact an album that should have been called Old Hands.

The & co album that was previously known here as Old Hands is in fact an album that should have been called Drifting Stars.

We are happy that these anomalies have now been rectified throughout the Wud Records and Explicit Music websites. In technical parlance, this is what is known as a balls-up of epic proportions. We offer our humble apologies to anyone who may have been or may continue to be confused by these inaccuracies.

Dark Company: Bodyfire and Easy Street

Posted by Wudmaster on 22/11/11

Two more alpha mixes, Bodyfire and Easy Street, have been added to Dark Company’s Alien Heat album. As with all of the other alpha mixes, both Bodyfire and Easy Street need a lot more work until they are finished. These are the latest ‘work-in-progress’ updates of these songs.

There are four more alphas to add to the Alien Heat collection from Dark CompanyWonderlust, Crash, Prisoner and The Joker. We hope to add these to complete the alpha mixes of the Alien Heat album in the reasonably near future.

The Bastard Sons of Dennis: a fine pair

Posted by Wudmaster on 15/11/11

A fine pair of songs by The Bastard Sons of Dennis have been completed and uploaded to the Wud Records website and to our shop at Bandcamp. Both songs are Blue Oyster Cult covers that The Bastard Sons of Dennis have played live many times and they have been added to their Cosy Lube Turtle collection.

The two songs are Before the Kiss a Redcap from Blue Oyster Cult’s 1972 eponymous album, and Teen Archer from their 1973 recording known as Tyranny and Mutation.
