We have been busy in Studio One with Pok recording acoustic guitar for his beautiful song Silver Ships on the Sea. It was composed nearly 30 years ago and is still one of the most evocative and wonderful pieces of music we have ever heard.
Silver Ships on the Sea is a long way from being finished as we have only recorded the acoustic guitar for it so far. There are various other instruments and voices to add to this song. We plan to add it to The Lecher on his Anthology collection.
Pok plans to record We Know You Well, co-written with Mark Drower, as the next track for his Anthology. More news on this will be forthcoming in the future from the Wud Records News service.
Pok will perform live at a number of UK festivals this summer and the release of the animated version of his book The Pook of Pok is coming soon.
We have just about finished the remastering of the album At Least 1000 Words by Flicker and are fairly happy with how things are. We will study the work that has been done and soon there will be more news regarding a tenth anniversary reissue. How the time flies…
There may be one or two minor tweaks we may need to make to the overall album before it can be properly reissued, which is why we are waiting and listening and analysing the album carefully. Flicker are largely pleased with the mastering process so far.
It has not been an easy recording to remaster due to the poor condition of the original Flicker audio files. However, the engineers have done a fantastic job and At Least 1000 Words sounds much, much better than it ever did before.

Humpty Dumpty and Number 6 are the two latest songs to be added to the Mind Dance collection by Dark Company. These are songs #9 and #10 of the 14 that make up Mind Dance and are only alpha mixes. We shall let you know when these songs are upgraded further through our News service.
The wonderful Humpty Dumpty starts out with a sample from an old recording from the BBC Radio Archives of Sigmund Freud speaking about his life’s work. Sven, Maxx and George all play beautiful things throughout this song which is wistful in nature and melodic in sound.
Number 6 features a variety of guest performers and is arguably about the way that as our entertainment gadgets become more and more sophisticated, so what is broadcast through them in mainstream media becomes more and more moronic.
The playlist for The Snail Gauntlet Demos by Flicker has now been repaired. Once again you can enjoy listening to these early versions of this forthcoming Flicker album.
Please bear in mind that they are only demos and not of great quality, although they possess a certain quaint charm all of their own. Many instruments are not even present on these demos, they are very raw and rough and empty.

The upgraded alpha mixes of Standing Still and Dreadlocked by Dark Company have been added to their Mind Dance album playlist.
Being only alpha mixes, there is still a lot of work to be done before these Dark Company songs are finished. A lot of the strings will need to be replayed and a lot of production still needs to be done.
Nevertheless, all of the songs on Dark Company‘s Mind Dance album are developing in a pleasing way and we hope you enjoy these most recent updates. There will be more to add to the Mind Dance album in the coming days.
Standing Still features the awesome jazz harmonica of Pete as well as some wonderful drumming by Sven and Maxx’s brutal and melodic bass. It is a beautiful dreamy hypnotic song with a roots feel.
Dreadlocked is a more rocky and trancy song with a hint of eastern rhythm. Dark Company‘s rhythm section of Maxx and Sven again excel in this song. In the third verse Sven breaks free of his chains and lays down a wonderful complex groove whilst keeping all the bones of the simpler rhythm of the earlier verses.
