Wud Records: broken playlists

Posted by Wudmaster on 22/06/12

Thanks to some emails from our visitors, it has recently come to our attention that some of our Flamplayer playlists are not working terribly well, with numerous missing file errors. We shall endeavour to fix these issues in the near future and apologise for any inconvenience.

Wud Records: recommended albums at Bandcamp

Posted by Wudmaster on 21/06/12

Wud Records has changed their three recommended albums at Bandcamp. If you would like us to recommend your album at Bandcamp, please contact us by emailing info@wudrecords.co.uk and if we like it we’ll add you to our list.

These are our new recommended albums at Bandcamp:

http://blbz.bandcamp.com/album/bright-lights-big-zombie
Indie rock and pop from our shoegazing neighbours Bright Lights, Big Zombie. Surprisingly infectious, slightly spaced out and touched by early Pink Floyd in parts. An honest and refreshing album.

http://thecoffincollectors.bandcamp.com/album/leopardskin-tales
Strange dark gothic rockabilly with a big guitar sound. Elements of comedy in the lyrics and the music and refuses to take itself seriously. Suggestions of Stray Cats, Sultans of Ping and B52s.

http://carpetfaceaudible.bandcamp.com/album/land-of-the-gooseneck-steppers-album-out-2012-on-itunes
After seeing their brilliant version of Baboon Shampoo on YouTube we had to recommend this. Cool, amusing and highly listenable, these old-skool rapmeisters will improve your day. NWA, Stereo MCs, Us3.

These are our previous recommended albums at Bandcamp:

http://hungersleeprecords.bandcamp.com/album/propeller-album
This album is a beautiful, cerebral, multi-genre collection of lovingly produced songs. It has a ‘big’ sound and was created with careful attention to detail. These songs will stick inside your head.

http://karlzumar.bandcamp.com/album/my-guitar
Charming and quirky, the wonderful original songs on this album are performed with ease by Karl. His voice and guitar recordings contain elements of legendary folk Johns – Rembourn, Martyn and James.

http://xiduspain.bandcamp.com/album/know-pain-know-gain
Xidus Pain – a Jedi of juxtaposition and highly talented modern poet. His subtle linguistic cleverness will make you smile. Fans of words will love this album even if hip-hop is not a favourite genre.

We aim to change the Wud Records recommended albums at Bandcamp every six weeks or so.

Pok: two epic tracks, and more

Posted by Wudmaster on 28/05/12

We have had a very busy couple of days in the recently rebuilt Studio One with Pok and have made a great deal of progress. Besides doing more work on the beautiful, ethereal Silver Ships on the Sea, as mentioned in a recent news post, we have begun the recordings of We Know You Well and Centre of the Cyclone, two epic tracks that were performed by Laughing Sun.

There is a lot of material to work with here and we anticipate that it will be a few weeks before these songs are ready for a release. We shall keep you updated with further news in our News section.

Pok has also created the artwork for the Live in Session Autumn 1985 collection from Laughing Sun. We will be working on the completed art package for that album in the coming days. You can download tracks from the album from our shop at Bandcamp by clicking here.

In more news concerning Pok and his artistic exploits, he has collaborated with Celestial Elf in producing a short animated film of his fable, the Pook of Pok. This is a wonderful piece of work and we recommend that you watch it – you can do so by visiting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55Bg7ilxO8M.
