Pok: recording drums today

Posted by Wudmaster on 17/10/15

Pok and Sven both left Wud HQ a short while ago having worked on the drums for We Know You Well, a monster of a piece that will eventually be found on Pok’s Anthology album. Weighing in at over twelve minutes in length, this behemoth has all of us excited as it grows towards its completion. It is one of Pok‘s earliest collaborations along with the awesome talent of Mark Drower.

In the past year or so we have not had much time to work on Pok‘s songs. The last couple of months at least have yielded some progress, with a few successful studio sessions being had and more coming soon.

Wud Records: emails

Posted by Wudmaster on 16/10/15

As some of you know already, the Wud Records emails system became somewhat unreliable towards the end of last year and a number of emails from you were lost in the vortices of nilspace, or at best, took an absurdly long time to arrive. This has now been rectified and we are using an entirely new email system, one which seems to work just fine. Hooray!

We have streamlined the email addresses that we use as well, with a lot of our old and no longer active bands coming together under one email, and our active artistes retaining their independent addresses. A new email has been created to deal with archive material.

The ‘Contact’ page at Wud Records has been updated to show all of this and if you wish to get in touch with us, everything should be in order.

If you contacted us some time ago and are still waiting to hear from us, it is likely that your communication was lost so please send it again if possible and accept our apologies.

Wud Records: We’re Coming Back!

Posted by Wudmaster on 15/10/15

After a rather prolonged sabbatical to allow babies to be born and grow a little and to do dull and irrelevant things like day jobs, Wud Records plan to return to action in the very near future and have developed a number of new things for you, all of which are in the pipeline.

Behind the scenes many things have continued to take shape with Flicker, Dark Company and Pok the Bard in action in our studios on occasions over the past few months.

There will be more news on all of this and more soon.

It’s been a very busy time and we shall be back more frequently in about two months. Meantime, Happy Solstice and enjoy the winter festivities!

Dark Company: Colt 44 and DOS Kapital

Posted by Wudmaster on 29/07/14

Two more songs, Colt 44 and DOS Kapital, have been added to Dark Company‘s Benign Inquisition page. These two recently upgraded mixes share a dark, evocative feel.

Both Colt 44 and DOS Kapital are fully upgraded to alpha status, meaning they are beginning to sound something like the way they will be when finished, even though they are still in the early stages of finalisation. All of the strings and some of the vocals need to be recorded properly as the tracks you can hear are merely guides to hang the synths and drums upon. Much of the synth and drum parts will need to be finely adjusted, edited, mixed and mastered properly before these songs are finished and release-ready.

If you would like to listen to Colt 44 or DOS Kapital, or indeed the whole Benign Inquisition album by Dark Company as it stands at the moment, you can do so by clicking here.

If you would like to hear an early demo version of Colt 44 recorded during the last days of DC3 in the spring of 2000, there is one to listen to on Dark Company‘s Demos page, which you can reach by clicking here.

More Benign Inquisition upgrades will be following on soon.
